Gadwall Tranquility

Another repost from my Sleepy Gadwall Series.

Second photo in the series.  In this one, the male Gadwall feels safe under the cave of thick underbrush that he swam into and is tucking in his beak to start his nap.  He was drifting around a bit but the sunlight was still reflecting into the dark and lighting him up.

The large version has more presence.

Sony ILCE-6000, SEL-55-210 @ 210mm, ISO-100, f/6.3, 1/1000, handheld.

I remember this series Gary. And I liked it back then. I had the same thing happen to me and I lost about 5 images to autodelete  that I had posted after the NPN site upgrade. I don't know if that checkbox moved or wasn't as noticable or what. Oh well now we know. I like the look you captured here. Well done!

I like the reflection in this Gary. I am wondering how this might look as a horizontal crop leaving out the branches on the top?
