FULL TITLE: Morning Light and Leaves Fall on Chapel Pond
I usually avoid shooting "tourist attractions" and that's what Chapel Pond is, since it is visible from the road, and even has a parking lot for about 10 cars (on NY Rt.73 between Interstate 87 and Lake Placid). But I was driving by at sunrise, and there was no wind, so I couldn't resist it. Searching for something a little different from the usual tourist shot, I homed in on a place where red maple leaves were dropping, with a few hitting the water near shore. To get the view wide enough, and including everything from the shore to the cliffs on the far side, I set up my Acratec GP ballhead for a vertical pano with 3 horizontal frames. The foreground leaves were so close that I shot the bottom frame twice, focusing on the floating leaves, and then the background. The whole vertical composition works pretty well for me, but I think it's too tall for the Web, so I am posting this square crop, which uses only the bottom two frames.
Canon 5D3; Canon 24-105 mm.; Circ. pol.
3 horizontal images stitched in PSCC (only the bottom 2 used in this crop)
(bottom image shot twice to focus on foreground leaves, and then background)

Wow, what cool light and color. Lots going on here but the reflection is captivating.

Beautiful reflection and overall scene! Very minor, but the foreground leaves look electric magenta to my eye, but as said, pretty minor. Real nice image!

Wayne: Glad you didn't resist. Wonderful scene and the leaves are a marvelous complement to the overall comp. I even like the small ripple circle. Superbly crafted image. 2 thumbs up! >=))>

You succeeded well with adding those two leaves, that really works very well, especially since their purle color isn't present on the trees at the other side. Well seen!

Wayne, this is lovely! The distant trees and their reflections are spectacular and those two floating leaves at the bottom take this from being a fine fall reflection image, to a much more intimate scene. I too feel like the floating leaves are a bit on the magenta side but like how they're a cool color in contrast with the warmth of the distant trees.

Pretty amazing image, Wayne. I noticed the magenta immediately but also wish that the rocks that intersect with those FG leaves were a bit darker so that the leaves stood out better. As it is the leaves look like they have "legs" and are not as impactful as I think they could be. Just a thought on an impressive photo.
