Luke, this is an excellent story telling scene and resulting image. Although I've never been a surfer, we So Cal folks are totally tuned into the sport. Like many sports this one has become a world wide attraction for lots of folks for sport and just plain entertainment. The keep away signs add to the drama of entering the water so close to the pier too. No need for change on this image that I can see at all......well done.....enlightened

As a side note: if you were ever an X-File TV series fan or watcher, the writer / producer Chris Carter was the Editor of the original  Surfer Magazine in the very early days before he got involved as the main dude for the X-Files......sad

Nice "on the beach" scene.  Nice BW tones.  I really like to see people in images and putting them into the scene to tell a story.  I would like to see more of this in this gallery.

Luke,
Wonderful photo.  I had to read your caption to see where it was taken.  The absence of wetsuits indicated somewhere tropical.  Love the proliferation of signs and the rebel attitudes of surfers.  Here in California they travel against the grain, although not in an agressive manner.  They are just cool dudes.
