Thanks for your comments on my previous post -- "From a Giant's Shoulder" -- which included a mountain pond called Giant's Washbowl.  I mentioned that anglers are not likely to transport baitfish there (which could endanger the native brook trout population) because it was hidden from the valley below by vertical cliffs, and a steep, bolder-strewn trail.  This is a shot of those cliffs that hide Giant's Washbowl from those traveling through the Keene Valley in the Adirondack Forest Preserve.

Hi Albert,  Most of the Windfall Pond Trout in the Washbowl are under a foot long, but I talked to a fly fisherman on my way back from the Nubble, and he said that there are some over 15 inches long now.  He speculated that a recent small rise in water level (due to a debris dam at the outlet) may be responsible for this, because the pond is less than 30 feet deep.

Beautiful colors, Wayne.  They are set off nicely by the rocks both in the sun and shade.

Very nice stand of colors with a good backdrop. It would be fun to go after some 15" brookies on light fly gear.

Wayne, vertical scenes as fine as this are hard to really get the total impact on line with having to scroll up and down to take it all in. But, for as well as we can review things this is a very fine scene. I especially like the slice of blue sky at the top, seems to add a lot to the overall color contrast nicely.....laugh

The trees and the walls look very nice, but the sky isn't working well for me. I don't know if it's the saturation or the tonality, or a combination of both. I think if you worked the sky somewhat it would balance the image more for me. Other than that, I like this.
