Spotted Towhee

Towhee posts seem to be popular lately, so I thought I'd chime in with one.  I like the enormous feet.

7Dii, 300mm f/4 + 1.4 TC, hand held, f/8, 1/1600, iso 800, aperture priority, center weighted average metering, no compensation.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  Cropped to 7.9MP.  Taken February 12th at 4:49 pm in the campground at Willard Bay State Park in Utah.

I appreciate all the comments on the last gull image and look forward to your input on this one.

Thanks,

Love those eyes & their direct contact, excellent sharpness, colors, & exposure Dennis.

These guys are quick & hard to get off the ground, great job. Hope to pick up the 7DII in the next 2-4 months, could really use the 1.6x crop sensor & better AF..

Well done!devil

This works for me as posted. I take head-on shots all the time but rarely get one that works this well.

Good catch. I like the direct gaze. It does sacrifice a view of the beak. But overall, a skillful catch of the bird in what looks to be a maze of branches.cool
