Just back from Ethiopia, this iconic and endemic animal was one of our major reasons for visiting this remote and very high region (up to 4,500 mm).

Ken: this one must be viewed large to be appreciated. I like the simple two color background palette as it emphasizes the animal. The techs are spot on and thedetail in the animals' coat and facial expression are very good. Thanks for this post, as I had never before seen this animal. Richard

Excellent. The photo does well to both show of the physical characteristics of the Gelada and the cliffside environment it lives in. The yellow flowers are a nice touch. It's a very pleasing picture to look at. The baboon looks quite relaxed and pleased with his lot in life. Nice.

Congrats on getting this image Ken. Really like the yellow flowers around the baboon and clean, simple surroundings.

Excellent image with enough eye reflection to make the subject come alive. My only small suggestion is to try removing some of the out of focus foreground to make the baboon lower in the frame, for what I feel would be a stronger presentation.
