A cactus flower family looks at the sunset waiting for the end of the day.

D800E, Nikkor 200mm macro - f/11 and ISO 100 - Back lit, natural lights; two shots blended manually for the DOF.

I will be very glad to read your opinions and advices. Thanks.

Giuseppe, one of your best - the wonderful light, muted colors, superb detail smooth background are phenomenal!

Hi Giuseppe, love the lighting and detail and just the right amount of colour in the background to give a very interesting couterpoint.  I feel with the composition the last flower on the right drags the eye away from the three 'main' subjects and then accentuates the 'hole' on the left bottom.  I thus wonder whether (and i have to say i'm not sure) a less horizontal (main flowers) / vertical (stem) composition would have enabled the 'dead' (or not yet blumed?) flower head to make a more positive contribution to the total composition ...

Cheers, Mark

A detailed and impeccable masterpiece, Gigi! I love your high-key stuff, but this is more up my alley. I don't really have a criticism of this fine work. I do like the background with just enough color to keep it real. Even the spent bloom is, I feel, a right touch, reminding this viewer that blooms are always temporary. devil

What a gorgeou trio of blooms, and an even more gorgeous photo of them, Gigi!  Wow!  I love the translucency of the blooms, and the dark BG.  Wonderful in every way!

Excellent!  These blooms are deceptively fragile looking and the gathering darkness seems to accent that quality.  Beautifully captured and presented.

It takes discipline to get a shot like this.. and an it's obvious you learned the basics early i.e. when you control the light, you control the shot. An excellent result.. beautiful. Not always possible with wildlife, but this example of a static subject shows great skill, execution, & planning. Makes my Texas cacti bloom pics look average. because they are.. The dramatic light here is everything, I'm sincerely impressed with your floral images Giuseppe.. You Da Mandevildevilcrying
