Amazing image, Graham. How did you get this? Was this guy asleep? The detail at f22 is just superb. devil

Hi Scott, I usually go out late in the evening and follow dragonflies until they land and stay there for some time.I note their location and then return early next morning - sometimes they are still there but usually not. I got lucky this morning and caught him just before he flew off. Graham

Tack sharp details and excellent DOF Graham. I like the BG that contrasts the light colors of your DF, it stands out very well.

Great POV, light, & closeup comp, this puts the term 'macro' back in focus.devil

Wow, that's amazing depth-of-field!  I kind of wish for more space around the DF in the comp, but I know that would diminish our ability to see all the detail you captured, so I'll just enjoy it as-is.

Hey Graham,
Now this is a real beauty, I will not touch on the fine aspects already mentioned except for the colors and lighting you managed which are simply outstanding. I too however, think the subject needs more room all the way around in the frame and since you did not mention any cropping, may be possible to get.
What a great look at this DF, Well Done . . .  devil

Hi Graham,

Nice job getting this guy in the frame. It is a bit tight, but it works.  Colors and details are awesomedevil

Outstanding details here, Graham, both in the dragonfly and in it's perch.
