Close Encounter Repost

While watching a small herd of elelphants feed, I noticed one walking right towards our vehicle. After it passed by, the tracker said had could easily have reached out and touched the elephant. Taken with a D4 and 80-400 lens at 80, 1/250, f/7.1 and Auto ISO at 1800. Cropped to about 90+% of the original. Richard

That certainly is a close encounter - I wonder how often that happens?  You framed it well though I wish the line from in back of the chair wasn't there.

Jim: it's not uncommon tohave elephants pass close to the vehicle, but this one was exceptionally close. Here's a re-post using the magic of Content Aware. Shouldn't have been so lazy on the first go. Richard

The human - animal bond is subtly depicted well!  Thanks for posting.

I like the repost, well done.   Good composition shows the incident very well.  The elephants eye in the frame makes the image IMHO.  Good awarness on your part to see and capture this moment.  Thanks for sharing.

This must have been a scary/exciting experience.  Amazing texture and detail.  It almost looks like a teardrop falling from the eye.
