We've gone from a record rainy season, to a record dry spell here in Central Texas.
Upside's the pond/stream is a major draw for all forms of native wildlife..
I was hoping for a bee or B-fly on the flowers to show a little 'diversity'.. or a small frog would've been great.. but they must've seen the squirrel coming![]()

Man !
Hope your trip to town was eventful and worth all the great action you missed at the pond while you were gone !
Really like this composition with the positioning of the Squirrel and the Flowers in the frame. The water and reflections are a plus as is the entire setting at the waters edge.
I like your composition a lot Howard; couldn't have asked for a better pose from the squirrel if you'd paid him in nuts...
Flowers and rocks provide some nice balance on the right, and the reflection is a bonus.
This looks great, Howard. The color of the flowers coordinates very well with the rust in the squirrel's fur. The getting a drink pose with the splayed paw look great. The larger version has much more presence with some fine pop and great details.
I like this one alot! Composition is right on, as is exposure. The flowers add a nice touch of color. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Howard
As everyone said, perfectly composed !!! catching the squirrel in a delightful pose drinking that precious water

We're way beyond drought here in California. We be pumping dirt out of wells at this point, sadly.
I missed this great little image until just now, Howard. A sweet little character taking a break from the heat no doubt. Excellent detail in the larger version.......thanks for sharing, and of course congrats on the EP here this week too.
