Malva punctata is une of the few flower left here in the dry, hot fields in August. We call it Malva puntata, dotted mellow, because of the white dots in the stems. I don't know if this plant exists in America.

Many thanks for your opinions and help.

Hi Gigi,

Looks very nice and the image appears and has the feel of a scientific illustration.  The pale blue BG is intense enough to bring out the pinks in the petals. Well done.......................Jim

I agree with Jim, this image does have the look of a scientific illustration.  But, to me it has a bit more life than an  illustrtation.  I am curious if the BG in natural or artifical?  A very pleasing delicate image.  TFS.

John Tobias.

Hi John. The backgound is the sky; its blue color shifted toward cyan when I moved  the white balance cursor towards the green side in the RAW Converter. I liked and saved it.

Thanks for your interest.

Definitely a beauty, Gigi.  The clean look with the emphasis on the lines in the flowers and the shapes of the leaves and buds against that subtle blue sky is wonderful.

Gigi: Superbly composed and captured. The heat is intense here as well but we're lucky enough to have a few hardy subjects. Beautiful subject, beautiful result. >=))>

This is a very artistic image. Looks more like a painting more then a photograph. I really like the colors.

Wonderful, artistic feel to this photo, Gigi.  The lines and translucency on the bloom are excellent.  Beautiful and artistic!

Gigi - Upto your usual high standards. A very trademark "transparency" shot from you.

Gigi, this is simply a beautiful photo.  Very well composed.  Excellent detail, excellent lighting and the background works very well to set of the pink colors.  I like how the petals become transparent around the base providing a good frame for the sepals.  Very well done!

A lovely graphic image, Gigi, emphasising the lines of the flower - and the flower's delicacy shows up so well against the pale, gradient background.  Beautiful !!
