This is the first year for this false bird of paradise which is thriving in the summer heat. It seems to suck up a couple of gallons of water a day in a large pot and the leaves and flowers just proliferate more and more. All comments welcome. >=))>

8 commentsBill - Always known this as Heliconia - good to know its also called False BOP. These are a big hit with Sunbirds in the East.
Superb take on this rather difficult to compose flower. Great light, punchy colors and specially like that tip of the leaf intertwined with the petal.
Sweet image, Bill. Nothing "faux" about it. Love the light and the fine comp.
Hey Bill,
This is an Outstanding Composition that is perfectly framed with wonderful detail and colors.
Well done . . .
Well crafted, Bill. No nits.
This yellow/red combo just pops out at ya Bill, nice!!

I agree with Ram, the leaves love embrace is a neat element of your most excellent composition
A beautiful portrait of a splendid flower. I love the colors and the composition with very nice leaves.Bill, I have never seen this flower here. Thanks.
Very cool Bill! Great light and excellent shapes. I love how the tip of the leaf seems to be holding on to the tip of the bloom. Excellent.

Bill, I like the vivid colors, the composition and the depth created by the green leaves. Nicely done!
