Even though the Kirkufjellsfoss waterfalls below that bridge are certainly more iconic, the bridge adds one more compositional element to this fantastic place. I choose a B&W rendition to more promenently show the ominous cloudy sky. Please let me know what you think.

8 commentsOne heck of a country road scene. Great sky and rock formation and your processing nicely highlights it. Vignetting is very effective.
Very impressive. I like the light fall off at the bottom. This looks like SEP work. The light tint is really good! The only small nit I have is the small halo around the mountain top—easily cured with a light blur brush.
Thanks! Phil - thanks for alerting me to it, I'll take care of that halo. :)
Interesting take on this famous place. Great job for trying out new stuff, it certainly worked for you this time, looks great! My only nit would be the white piece of plastic on the fence to the left, which draws my attention. Maybe crop it out?
I think that with the right conditions b&w looks more dramatic than colour and I think that this is one of those images. Excellent choice of composition and that sky really makes it. Graham
I'm a big fan of country road pictures and this is about as good as it gets. I'm not sure why there is such an emotional draw from this subject but I definitely feel it. Is it the road of life? Does it represent a longing for something? I don't know. Wonderful image.
What a great place to walk along and soak it all in. The tones look real nice and I like the highlights on the road.

Excellent picture. I think B&W works very well to bring out the clouds.
