Canon 1D-X, 500mm f4 + 1.4 TC, handheld
f11, 1/640, -0.3ev, ISO2000

Probably the mate of the female I posted earlier. Like her, he was working full time feeding chicks at a nest deep in this willow thicket.

Full frame, selective sharpening to bird, very slight adjustments to Levels.

C & C, please. Thanks for looking.

Great image of a warbler that does not sit still for long periods of time. Nice color, sharpness, detail and the environment and insect all work very well together.

Hi Jim,

I like being able to identify the prey ( a mayfly) in this image.  Vertical comp and pose are nice.  There are some very nice colors on the face of the bird with some light orange at the base of the bill.devil......................Jim

Excellent, Jim.  Just enough contrast between the black cap and the dark bg to make it still pop.  Bugs are always a neat plus and I like the way the little filament from the tail crosses the warbler's eye.
