This shot of Bambi was taken on Lieutenant River, Ct.  I was walking out onto the river bank to photograph Ospreys when Bambi pop out of the high grass.

Hey Peter,
I've always liked this hidden in high grass look'n at you pose for Deer and you managed a clear path through the blades of grass to the face, not always that easy to do. Nice detail in some harsh lighting and an excellent cropping choice.

Hi Peter,

That IS awfully tall grass! I agree with Mike that you snapped this one at the right time to take advantage of that clear pathway through the grass. The bright piece of grass immediately above the eye (overlapping the ear) seems a bit odd in that it appears to originate from the eye itself. If you did remove the lower portion of it (via cloning or some other technique) I'd suggest continuing that on and removing it all. You might also want to experiment with warming this one up just a tad - seems a little bit cool to me.

Cheers...

Brad
