June 19, 2015 in Orleans, Massachusetts This image belies the suffering I experienced taking the photo. The sand fleas liked me in a special way. At all times I had 50 or more circling my head despite wearing mosquito repellent clothing. Being from Southern California, seeing boats lying on the sand at low tide is alarming. When we see a boat grounded in the ocean here it will soon be broken up by the waves. It would not be the result of tides but of sailer miscalculation or engine failure.

5 commentsAs pretty a sunset as I have seen in a while. Looking West toward Cape Cod Bay?
West toward the bay. I had a NDF filter on the lens I neglected to mention above.
A sweet scene which works well in the pano format. The exposure is nicely handled. There seem to be some purple specks in the water just left of middle?
Patrick, This is really a beautiful scene and I love the quiet mood. The mood might not have been as good for you because of the sand fleas but it sure did work out nice. I do see the purple specks that Kah mentioned. Good work!!
