We visited Machu Picchu this February. It was an amazing place to visit. I took some photos of the ruins etc but not really being a landscape photographer I also focused on photographing whatever birds and animals were around. It took me a while to line up this llama where I wanted him in the frame.

9 commentsThis is about as good as it can get to show a terrific sense of an iconic place inhabited by the local animal life. Well composed, Nate!
Love it Nate. YOu did a really good job with the composition and the hard work to get it done properly has paid off here. This looks like a vacation advertisement.
This is really cool, Nate!!
Hey Nate,
I'd like this a lot more without any visible hand of man (that junky old stuff in the background is a real distraction!). KIDDING!!
Have to say this is a real different and interesting view of Machu Picchu...and to me the llama helps convey a strong "returning to nature" feel to this shot.
Cool!
Cheers...

Nate: the wait was well worth the while. Without the llama, it would have been an ordinary photo of the ruins. Richard
Hello Nate Well done as all have commented positively on this capture ! Never been there but seems like a place to add to my bucket list! It is this composition that has drawn me in and wanting to see more ! Cheers

Nice scene, Nate. I suppose the llama could've looked a bit more regal, but I admit I love its expression.
