Here's one from our annual Ecuador photo tour from this January. We always get a few images of this species at Paz de las Aves but this year was exceptional as this male perched out in the open (this is in the open for this species) for quite some time, we all took about 500 images of or so of him. This was one of my favorites.

Especially in this environment using only ambient light..
Nice comp, POV, & head turn, that's one solid cock-of-the-rock man

Excellent pose and composition Nate. Love the bright red against the green habitat, well done! Ray
Amazing. Just amazing.
I understand when you say "this is the open for this species". Very nice you could get him interely displayed.
One of the coolest birds ever Nate. Nothing to say but well done. Habitat is habitat, what are you gonna do???
It would be hard to resist filling a card with this beauty, Nate. Nice pose and perch and your usual excellent job on the techs.
He's a gorgeous bird, Nate1 Your habitat inclusion is very effective.
Super cool bird Nate. Would love to be able to join you down there some year...from what I understand a lot of these birds hang out high up in the canopy, so great patience shown to end up with this. Love the contrast in colors form your subject to BG.
Thanks for your comments everyone.
Kurt, this particular species isn't usually in the canopy, it's on a lek every morning from 6am to 7am at roughly eye level. The challenges are that often they are behind vegetation and the light is low at that time of day in the forest.
Great shot Nate. You managed a nice alert pose as I remember these guys hopping all over that perch. One great morning!
