Excellent catch of bird family life, Howard.  I really like your framing here, with the oof flowers and grasses in the background, the sharp birds and tree trunk, and the sense of spaciousness on the left.

I like this.  The environment is as important in the frame as the birds.  Helps set the context very nicely.  Of course the interation with the birds is also very appealing.

Howard,

I like the composition for this shot.  The image has a lot interesting features including color, behavior, and the elements of composition which includes the soft, colorful BG, the position of the subjects off to the side, detailsdevil................Jim

Real nice action/behavioral shot.  Both birds are sharp and the perch and background are nice.

The detail in both birds is outstanding, Howard. For the most part when I say that it is the crisp fine detail clear down to the layering feathers. The pinkish back of the large cardinal is gorgeous. Obviously the parenting act taking place is a real plus too.

The short DOF is perfect here which helps keep our focus directly on the main subjects......devil

A nice crisp capture, Howard!  The focus and DOF are in just the right place and the timing was perfect.  I really like the colors of the birds and the complimentary green of the oof background.  Very nicely done!
