Nature and Man

A picture is worth a 1000 words so I will not give much commentary on these two images. They are from a 2014 trip with Mark Seaver on the Ocklawaha River below the Rodman Damn were we had anchored the boat on the shady side of the channel and spent the better part of the afternoon witnessing an Osprey feeding event. As they released water through the locks, some 20 plus Ospreys were feeding on the stunned Carp as they were dumped into the River. The posted image is 65% of full frame, the second image was taken 38 minutes after the first, is 80% of full frame and both were hand held from boat.

Bet that guy on shore was way jealous!  Both birds are wonderfully sharp and it's neat that you got the fisherman showing clearly, but softly in the background.  Tells a fine fish story, Mike.

Hi Mike,

Good shot of who fishes better.  I like that the osprey is giving a quick glance at the fisherman.  Well donedevil.............Jim

A pair of good catches!  I hope you were able to get a few goods ones without the fisherman.  Must have been exciting to have that man osprey around.  Thanks for sharing.

These are both just great... you can almost hear the osprey laughing. The fisherman looks totally oblivious. Great moment!

You've cashed in nicely on this novel shot Mike.. While the human fumbles with bait, the osprey's off to the dinner tablesad
The obvious clash of 'man & nature' leaves no doubt that when it comes to fishing..

There's no contest. Nature wins hands downcool

Well done!devil
