A pale blue columbine from a cluster of them, buds and all, in a herbaceous border - a yellow iris in the background.

Ian, the background really adds to the photo IMO.  As always, nice work!

I like the blue and yellow contrasting colors, Ian. Excellent use of the yellow iris in the bg, and well composed overall.

I really like how the columbine stands out from the background, Ian. The composition, especially the empty space on the right, really work for me. My only very minor comment is that I would have liked to see the tip of the bloom in the bottom inside the frame too (but I do that all the time too, and don't realize it until after the fact cool)

The colors and shapes from the Columbine are great, Ian.  I also very much like where you've put them in the frame.  While this works very well as presented, I do wonder what effect burning down the bright background yellow would have.

Ian - Good call to include the yellow in to frame to use the complementary color. I find the composition a little busy but I guess Columbines grow that way..at least some varieties do.

Ian, I like this well enough as is, but I do feel a little more DOF would have been an improvement.cool
