Went outside in fading light and thick clouds about an hour ago, tropical storm Bill's keeping us pretty wet..

Common Katydid nymph on Black Eyed Susan. The first three petals are gone bottom right corner, ergo 'flower destroyer' for a title on this one.

F/14, 1/15th, ISO 640, 5DM2, Sigma 150mm f/2.8 with tripod & wire @ 7:16pm

EXIF data attached.

Hi Howard,

Good capture of this leggy muncher. Nice colors and you were able to get the frontmost antenna in focus too.  Well done....................Jim

Howard:

Beautiful capture of this critter.  The large version has made such a difference for viewing the fine details which are some important for macro shots.  Well done.

This is an excellent look at this critter, Howard.  The colors in the katydid stand out well from the flower while matching well with the background.  The "peeking out" sense works very well.
