In our local park here in St. Louis I see these Grakles bath in this water creek all the time so that I went to shoot but was very surprised to see this Grackle caught a fish.

Hi Butch,

This is an interesting image, never seen a Grackle with fish. It's a great pose in sweet light. Specular highlights in the bg don't bother me. I don't know your feeling on cloning but that dark area on the right side of the frame would be an easy removal and clean that side up. Maybe a rock? I like this image a lot, Grackles have such attitudes. cool

Butch: you've catpured a unique scene showing the bird with its prey. I like the pose and coloration of the bird. The specular highlights do bother me, especially the ones above the bird's head and the very bright one near the bird's tail. Cloning is a possibility if you are OK with that approach. Richard

Nice shot of this grackle.  I agree about cloning out the specular highlights around the bird's head.  I think I would give the bird more room on the left.

Love those irridescent feathers and the fish is a nice bonus for the shot!  Very nice capture, Butch!

Nice shot of the Grackle, Butch.  Good pose and an excellent job on the iridescence. The fish is just wonderful as a natural history addition.  I didn't realize Grackles were so pliable in their behavior.devil

Butch,

Wonderful detail in this and great pose.

I think I would be tempted to tone down the specular highlightsdevil

Great behavioral shot Butch, excellent eye contact and look at the unusual prey item.  Irridesence captured nicely too. devil
