American Goldfinch

Spring wouldn't be complete without our large contingent of American Goldfinches.  This rather oddly plumaged individual seemed to be the only one really willing to pose for me this afternoon.  He did choose one of my favorite old fence posts.

7Dii, 500mm f4, ISL + 1.4TC, Jobu Gimbal on RRS legs, f/7.1, 1/800, iso 800, Aperture priority, partial metering, no compensation.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.   Cropped to 13.9MP.  Taken in my back yard at 2:48 this afternoon.

Comments are always appreciated.

Thanks,

Yes, Dennis, Goldfinches are a visual treat, we've got two thistle feeders that bring them to within 15 feet of our window.  You've got a fine view of this little guy and that fence post makes an outstanding perch, with lots of interesting details.
