This is an image I took on the last night in the San Juan Islands. Earlier in the day I watched as a pod of Orcas moved through this exact spot... truly a stunning place!

The San Juan's are indeed a special place - gorgeous feeling to this PNW sunset! I forgot, I find that the overwhelming sky works very well in this situation.

Very nice sky indeed! I find that the small patch of light at the top is very effective in breaking up what otherwise would have been a large greyish area. I can see why you like this place!

Beautiful image, Luke. Love the big sky and wonderful layers of color. I would love to see the pod of orcas in this setting.

This is very nice, Luke! A beautiful sunset with wonderful colors and layers. I like your comp with just the small band of water across the bottom. Truly does look like a wonderful place.
