Hi all.
More tulip photos from this year. I need to take some time to process some of the other 'underneath' shots with the red and yellow tulips, but I have not done that yet. This is another one that I processed from around the same time.
Any and all thoughts appreciated.

7 commentsThis is very nice, Nathan. I like your POF on the front tulip on the right side. The soft colors of the OOF tulips make a beautiful bg.
Nathan - Works for me as well. Lovely pastels in the frame. Compositionally I am thinking if the bloom now slightly left of center was more to the left OR a crop from the left with more vertical emphasis for the tulips (Tulips higher in the frame) would make for a better composition or not.
Nice comp and blend of soft colors. Rule of 2/5's seems to work well here. ...err... or was that rule of thirds? In any case, the placement of the focused bloom in the corner works. My only thought would be to have put a little handkerchief over that bloom whose head is popping up just below it. I often use a kerchief to tie off a stem or temporarily weight down flowers so they will lean over and get out of my comp. Well done!
Very nicely handled, Nathan, with a lovely overall effect. I do like the way you've set the sharp tulip off to the R somewhat ( not on the third ) - that gets a good balance with the central flower and then those in the distance.
Excellent image of this tulip group, Nathan. Well composed/exposed for the attractive color combination.
Nathan: We've had this discussion before regarding the direction of flow in images. Flipping this horizontal would be my natural inclination but I like how this unconventional placement of the main subject impacts this particular image. Well seen, conceived and executed. >=))>
Well done, Nathan. I like the more subtle colors you have here, but I like the brash red and yellow tulips as well, just for different reasons. I agree with Ken about the tulip head in the LRC.
