Sophora japonica

by Sandro Bisotti

Gallery: FloraPosted May 4, 201597 views9 comments

...in a garden of my town, Torino.

Sony A7r with Carl Zeiss Jena Flektogon 20 mm f/2.8 here at f/16.  Low ISO, delayed shutter.

PP from RAW (here I wanted stronger contrast than my usual) with DxO.

Thank you much for attention and all the best,

Sandro

Sandro - Very special.  Have always wanted to make a photo like this. B&W really suits this one and I like being able to see the bark details in the lower portions of the tree.

This is a marvelous composition, Sandro, and I definitely agree with the choice of strong contrast. The detail is magnificent - hurrah for those "old" manual focus lenses!!!!

Excellent subject for this genre of image. The tree has wonderful form and shape making it perfect for this type of image, and I like your chosen comp. I don't think the leaves add anything, and obstruct some of the form, so you might shoot this exact image again when the leaves are all gone, but this is pretty minor. crying

I really like these type of photos, and going for extra strong contrast is a good decision if you ask me. Very lovely photo! The structures in the branches are very intriguing.

Sandro: This is exceptional IMO. I love how the branches fill the frame and emanate in all directions. Really well seen and captured. >=))>

In the larger view it's just beautiful. An award very well deserved.
