Here's another shot from Nome, Alaska.  This is the land of the mid night sun.  If it's a sunny day as this was, the light is at it's best between 12 and 1 am which is when this shot was taken.

One of my favorite species, well documented in a perfect matching environment. As good as it gets with these birds I'd sat.. devil, hans

I like the birds size in the frame that shares this complimentary habitat so nicely.

Great comp, head turn, detail, POV, and open beaked calling pose!devil

Like the beige colors and the open beak -- goo djob getting the catch light to show -- black eye from a dark mask can hard to catch the light

It's hard to wrap my head around the sun being out at midnight Nate. I like the infocus foreground habitat and the oof bg. Nice catchlight in the eye and the details in the bird look great. The comp with the bird placement looks perfect. Well done!  devil

Nice low angle Nate and love the open beak...especially showing the tongue.

This wonderful light is well worth staying out past bed time. Sweet calling pose you captured here Nate.
