Another from Salineno. This and the Altamira look superficially alike, but there's a large difference in size. The hooded comfortably perches on the edge of an orange half and eats it. The Altamira is too large for such antics.

11 commentsGreat color in this image!! I like that you have detail in the black feathers on the birds head. I wonder if you took some off of the left side if it would improve the overall image. The larger branch I find a bit distracting. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Dennis,
I love those rich colors. A slight crop off the left may help the composition too..............................Jim
I do like the bird, but like the others, I'm finding the branch on the left to really pull me away.
I am concerned that it may end up causing the bird to look very centered however.
Great setting, light, sharp details, & excellent PP Dennis.
The habitat's just soft enough in contrast to the birds bold colors that he pops in the frame!
Beautiful

Hi Dennis, I would echo Howards comments, my only thought is a little off the top, or, moving the whole crop down to reduce the space above, I just feel its a little close to the trim edge, but personal taste. Love this vibrant orange!

The orange is so much brighter than anything else in the picture that I don't notice the left side branch -- so not a distraction for me --
A great picture Dennis with habitat included which I like. Excellent bird and picture layout too.

Dennis I find myself echoing Scott's comment about the comp. Lovely vivid colors and great detail-exposure is excellent as well.
What a beautiful bird, nice image, Dennis.
I would follow others regarding composition.
Never seen this species, thanks for showing Dennis. Nice surroundings as well. Thanks for the extra information added! Best, Hans
