"I wish the water was 30 feet closer !"

See Larger Version HERE

The Osprey caught the Fish and the Eagle ended up with it, this image is at one point in between and yes I could hear the Fish screaming bloody murder. I managed 15 shots of the action packed battle and this was the only usable one in the bunch. Hand held standing on the dock, 40% of full frame.

With such an image you only need 1 out of 15  . Great action, well captured. :toast: :toast: , Hans

Excellent action catch, Mike. The high key look really sets off all 3 subjects and it's pretty amazing that you got all 3 sharp.

Great image with incredible action! Bald Eagles are nesting in my area for the first time in nearly 75 years and the Osprey have been having fun harassing them. Wait until the tables turn and the Osprey's find themselves getting their fish stolen.

Wonderful action and composition, Mike. The light in the eyes of the osprey and eagle really helps put this across and when you look closely you can see how focused both birds are on the fish. Very cool.

Nice job on the EC adjustment Mike and good job getting all three in frame like this. I like the comp and layout of all three. I do wish they were closer like you, but you still ended up with a good action sequence. :toast:

Ha! What a cool frame! Much more than "usable" I would say...the look/pose/positioning of the eagle in particular is very interesting and dramatic. Nice story-telling image with great graphic appeal--I like the high key here as well.

Sure, closer is always nicer, but what is more important is that you caught this one shot at the perfect moment, with everything in focus, well exposed, minimal blur, and even a very dynamic and balanced composition. REALLY NICE SHOT!

What a great action scene you captured here Mike. Nice comp and the spacing of the birds and fish is perfect. Well done! :toast:

I saw an osprey lose a fairly large carp to an eagle up in Ontario. You do not want to be parked beneath one of these epic air battles for sure  . No nits here--you got the hat-trick :toast: :toast: ......................Jim
