Atop the fjords

Hi,
this is one of the classic views on the Lofoten Islands, from a peak called "Reinebringen". The view is into Kirkefjord. The few houses in the lower right belong to the town of Reine.

It is not that high (1500 feet), but every hike on the Lofoten starts, obviously, at sea level and and the elevation gain is fast and steep, so even for a guy from Austria, this was more than just a nice morning workout - an uncomfortable 50min scramble on muddy, then rocky terrain.

And from where I stand (a ridge), there is an almost vertical drop of 1500 feet, and I admit it, not comfortable. Got the shot and retreated. Breakfast at the cabin was spiced with endorphins

Thanks for looking or leaving a comment, Large version available!

Regards
Dietrich

The misty softness is very appealing to the landscape. :wavey: Don't look down

This is very nice Dietrich. I have seen quite a few images of this place and they all have a 'postcard' look to them. This is quite different.

The composition is really unique with that tiny house at the very corner of the lrc being the center of attention.

I love the misty, dreamy mood to this. The blueness of the Provia works nicely with it. Well done.

This one has a very strong hue to it as well, and it works equally effective as your previous photo. Breathtaking view, well worth it the effort I would say!

Captures the majesty of the Lofotens well. The cool balance works well. The town is in a slightly distracting spot but does give a terrific sense of scale.

This image really captures the spirit of Lofoten Norway Didl. Wonderful view point (but I am sure scary as you say). The misty atmosphere and reflection really make this image work for me. Magnificent work.

Beautiful scene. I really like how the foreground mountains fit so nicely into those in the background, with the water as a buffer. Your efforts took you to the perfect place to make this image happen. Congratulations!

wonderful capture, and so fascinating the (uncommon, we can see the film and large format quality) colour rendition.
Ever a pleasure to see.
All the best,

Beautiful composition.  I like the placement of the near peak, the flow of the water lines and the misty mood.
