Have My Eye on You

Gallery: Weekly ChallengePosted March 24, 20151,878 views10 comments

I know this is the "eyes" have it and I am posting an "eye", but since it is the focal point of the image, I thought it might work well for the theme this week. This burrowing Owl had his eye on an incoming Western Kingbird who started to dive bomb him while on his perch. I liked how he was looking back with a single eye on his invader. Was shooting at f/10 in an attempt to be prepared to get both the kingbird and owl in focus.

Not only is this a fine image (I like the slightly out of focus wing tips and background), but it fits the WC theme to a tee. Esoterically, I wonder if its name is Cy?

Way cool, Kurt, with that intense eye peeking backwards at the viewer. It's a fine image of the owl against a nicely oof but color coordinated background and sure gave me a chuckle with the pose.

Great shot and spot on for this week's challenge Kurt. Sharp where it counts with a nicely blurred BG and really good colors.

Killer, Kurt! But very cyclops-like as others have noted.

Really cool image irrespective of the theme.
