I captured this Northern Shoveler hen at the local lake I frequently visit. I really liked the simplicity of this along with the beautiful blue water and reflection. This just goes to show a beautiful subject, simple pose and great light can combine to make a fine image.

Processed using Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CC 2014. Comments and critiques welcome.

Nice job Jerry, you're right about the simple images can really work well. The reflection of her bill made me laugh.

A lower angle may have improved this but I know it's not always possible. Great details in the hen. It seems just a touch bright to me but it may be my monitor. See what others think. Well done!

Excellent, Jerry. I really like what the ripple does to the reflection of the bill-makes for a slightly quirky element in the image.
