Polydamas Swallowtail

I did not find this butterfly in the catalog of the butterfly house. I did some research on www.learnaboutbutterflies.com and think it might be a Polydamas Swallowtail.

D90, 105mm, f/7.1, 1/80, ISO 500, +0.3 EV, handheld, 95% of the original. Butterfly house, Montreal Botanical Garden. March 2015.

It's a beauty, Yun. The color matching with the flowers is great as is the sharpness on the BF. I've never seen one in person, but I agree with your ID.

Hi Yun,

The swallowtail looks good with subtle changes from light to dark gray. Background is bright and helps bring some balance with the intence colors of the lantana...............................Jim

Yes, this is a Polydamas, also called the gold-rim swallowtail. Lovely shot.
