Not all rides end well

This is another in the series with Jeremy, a fellow whom I met that day while I was photographing surfers, has caught waves with his skim board. The Wedge has a wicked shore break that pounds right down on the sand if an enthusiast is still in the wave when it fully breaks. On the right is sand and the brown on the left is churned sand. Needless to say this did not end well. This is tantamount to Icarus flying too close to the sun. Fortunately he was not injured, although many dozens through the years have been paralyzed from injuries on this beach.

Nikon D4 Nikkor 200-400mm 210mm ISO 320 1/1250 f/8 White Balance Auto RAW hand held Processed in Lightroom and PhotoshopCC2014. It has not been noise reduced or sharpened.

Thank you in advance for your comments. :toast:

Ouch! At first glance I thought the dark area on left was a rock. Thanks for the explanation.

Ouch! I used to body surf the Wedge in the 60's when I lived in SoCal, and did come home a few times with bruises.

Nice dynamic image with great color.
