Pheasants are among the most regal and unbelievably beautiful birds. What a treat to see this closeup! The clarity and blurred b/g with soft browns makes this pop! The white in the neck is less bright than the white tips of the feathers in the body. I might try to brighten the neck-whites a smidge. Excellent shot!

Really nice Brian. The larger version is a must. The detail and colors are amazing. My only suggestion would be to take a sliver off the bottom and add some up top and on the left, if you have it.

Superb detail, colors and exposure. You have done a great job with a bit of habitat in the background as well

Very nice - I especially like the portrait composition. The long tail on these birds makes it hard to compose full body shots; this is a good away around that issue.

This is really cool Brian the colors pop with detail. The background with habitat is very pleasing. Large image is amazing! If you had it I would like more room on top also. Well done!

Nice portrait Brian. Love the colors and detail. I can't get within 100 yards of a rooster before they take off, so great job getting close enough to this one. Nice work!
By the way......any eagles? I was going to head out this year and heard the count was way down because of the warm weather, so I didn't make the trip.

Kurt, I was there before the carp kill, so the few eagles I saw were very distant. plenty of harriers and a few kestrels and roughies.
