From a trip to the South Island of NZ (Cable Bay)... there was barely a breeze blowing when I took this photo but a static image can still evoke a howling wind.

Windy indeed! The light on the water is especially "atmospheric".

You can sure tell the prevailing wind pattern with this Dave. What a pretty place. I wonder how a portrait crop would have been for this location. I want to see more of the mountains and more of the tree on the bottom.

If it wasn't blowing when you took the shot, it's at least quite obvious that this location sees a lot of high winds! Those trees look like are or were in a hurricane! It's a nice landscape, Dave!

Yes, Dave, the tree shape speaks to steady winds from a particular direction. I do believe I've seen such shapes along the CA coast. I like all the greens and especially the lighting on the water.

I really like the light vs dark effect in this image. It works well with the gnarly trees. Great seeing, observing this combination on your part to create this composition.

This has some wonderful tones, Dave, from vibrant green to the sombre greys - the colour balance works superbly. Thw wind has certainly been at work amidst those tall trees !!
