The image has nice tonal range and depth, and I like the composition. Now, is it my monitor, or do I see just a bit of color on the tree trunks and the conifer on the right edge? (in which case it would be my imagination?)

Alberto:
This was originally a duotone, so although flattened, it may have some color relics. Even though scanned and digitized, there is still a film quality which I can't really define.

I think it would put a bit more stress on the three trees by cropping just a bit of the two sides, maybe a 4x5 or something like that? But it's a really strong image as is, which definitely should be seen large to appreciate the details.

I like it! Very good bw image, the tonalities look very good.
If you crop a bit from the bottom, you get one for the landscape gallery!

Oh, clap hands from me.
I like:
1) this kind of images
2) this one. Because its assured and robust composition, its "serious" (and not pumped on extreme tones as I often see in many forums), its neutral tone classic b/w tuning.
Fresh air for my tastes.....
All the best,
sandro
