Sand Patterns At Dawn

This image was created at Botany Bay near Charleston, SC and Edisto Beach. After a relatively ho-hum sunrise, I started looking for opportunities with back or side lighting. This natural diagonal just drew me in. I thought the image would be more powerful in Black and White so I processed it with Silver Efex Pro and gave it a blue toner within the software.

You've captured the lighting in this scene nicely Kate, and the B&W conversion was a good move. There are some wonderful tones throughout the scene. Thanks for posting.

The designs in the sand are fascinating and are emphasized by the lighting. Nice image.

The zig-zag diagonals combine wonderfully with the different textures here, Kate. The depth in this view adds additional interest. I think the subtle blue tone works well.

The diagonals really make this one shine, Kate. I like the three distinct patterns and the conversion, too.
