Another one from last week shot during the snow squall. This little male goldfinch is still showing quite a bit of yellow under the chin. K5 IIs 300mm f4 (1/640 sec at f8.0, ISO 500) Double Processing for snow, Levels, LM (shadow darks, midtones, bright lights, lights), Topaz Detail.......................Jim

Superb! I especially like the reflected light from the snow on the underside of the Goldfinch. Detail is excellent. The processing is excellent. Tiny nit—just a bit more room on the right? Outstanding as is, anyway! I would be proud to have this in my files! :toast: :toast:

Jim: very nice image. Nice perch and head turn. I think it would be stronger with less room on the top and more on the bottom or at a minimum less on top. The bird would be less centered for my tastes.

Great capture. The falling snow puts this over the top for me.

That's really nice, effective light, Jim. Really sweet image, and effective use of color. If it were mine, I might have tried a composition that gave the bird a little more room to look into.

Jim,
Love the shot, the setting, the snow and the background. Agree with Keith that it would be a stronger image if there were less space on the left. :toast:
