Hi Chuck, only saw these once there, but not ver co-operative, however they were fun in the water when you snorkelled.
Looking at the techs you were fighting light, however why -2/3's curious?? I like the position in frame, as if he was about to hop up, but a tad more room above may help if you have it. I might also give it around of Selective colour, helps those blacks pop a bit more, you call on Global or just selective on the subject, although I really do like that steely blue/black colouring. Personally I might also give it a couple more rounds of USM on the head? Might also blur the hint of sharp rock 'in focus' on the LHS, it's obviously on the same focal plane, but just catches my eye, ditto the orange 'blob'.
Nice one.

Hi Chuck: Very cool image. I think the pose and the rock work very well together. Steve asked why -2/3 EV. Makes perfect sense to me with the overall scene being dark, the meter was easily fooled into over exposing so you had to make the EV adjustment. Great call in the field. Nicely captured.

Isla Isabella straddles the Equator at the Northern tip only. It's a large island, slightly smaller than Delaware (1792 Square miles vs 1920), References say that the Galapagos Penguin lives primarily on the West Coast of the island. As of 2004, the population was estimated to be only 1500 birds, so very endangered.
Thanks for showing this, Chuck. It's a good look at a vanishing species.

I find myself really digging this one Charles. I like the head turn, the environment and I probably should just say I love Penguins. It's a goal mine to one day photograph them. The tiniest nit I have is I wish you had a touch more room above the head, but very minor and it still works the way it is. Nice job on the Exp adjustment so you didn't blow out the whites.
