This must be viewed large to appreciate the detail on the face! For presentation, you might consider darkening the vegetation in the lower right and maybe even right edge. Try choosing just the darker toned greens that are there to avoid the vignette effect and to keep it natural looking in the bright setting. I think such a tweak would help balance his dark bulk in the bright surroundings, for a stronger composition.

Messy eater. He needs a napkin. The detail is really nice. How old do you suppose this guy is? I have always been fascinated at the life span of these guys.

Yes, he is that Jerry. If I were to hazard a guess on age I'd say well over 100 years. These tortoises are reported to age to 150 years or so, and from his size he's all of a hundred years I'd say.

Hi Chuck, it's a cool place to visit that's for sure, a little late to the party, but...
I like the diagonal line the head makes and the vegetation stuck to the face. Agree with Lon about slight darkening the vegetation and even the lighter area at the foot of the image, but I do like the vibrancy of the environment. For me, a hint more DoF would have been better.

Hello Charles
Well captured with excellent detail , Very well defined as seen in the Large Version ! The messy eating seems like my 2 year old grandson !:)
As already mentioned by others, a little more DOF would have been great!
Hope Nate behaved and treated you well:)
