Interesting challenge this week... for whatever reason, in perusing my archives, this shot brought that sense of calm, say ahhhh, peacefulness. An oak grassland that looks like someplace to just lie down for a drowsy afternoon, whatever animal you may be. In the Cache Creek wilderness.

I agree, it fits the topic very nicely! In my view you got some great light on the grass, especially how the foreground gently grades into the shade of the oaks. :toast:

Yes, this does look very peaceful and inviting, Dave, especially with the vibrant greens in the grass and the gentle light emphasizing the oak on the right. As a minor nit, I could see cloning out that one flower closest to the left edge.

February/March is the absolute best time to be in our Central Valley. For the reason that your picture conveys. For grassland scenes like "Out of Africa".

Definitely a fine place to spread a blanket and say aaaaahhh as you settle into the peaceful surroundings. Very nice shot with nice light, great color and crisp detail. Well done, Dave!
