A mating couple of Lions from the resident Cheli Pride in the Mara North Conservancy. We spent a couple of hours with them. This image was captured when they were suddenly distracted by some other lions that showed up at the scene.

Excellent. Makes a good story, too! I can imagine the conversation—"I beg your pardon! Can't you see we're busy here?"

Really interesting shot, you hardly ever see photos of African wildlife against a dark background.

I really like the dark background here. It makes the lions stand out and it gives a moody feel. Very nice.

Hello Mario

The pair show off nicely with the dark background, and give an impact too! The setting is ideal with light falling on the lions very well. Would have been great to get some head turns slightly!

Cheers

The color of the grass and the background make the lions really pop. I like the way the you captured the pair with there attention in the same direction.

BG makes it different from others n gives nice profile to the pair. I may try to extract some more details from the BG.

The lions look great. Their alert poses are quite compelling, inviting to viewer to guess what might be out there. I know that you like the darker backgrounds, but here this feels somewhat artificial on my monitor, with bright lions against very dark foliage, but all evenly lighted, suggesting to me selective processing. In the end it is a dramatic presentation and a matter of subjective taste.
