Nikon D4s
600mm
No Teleconverter
1/2000
F/6.3
ISO 800
Cropped 66%
Shot from truck window
Image was made in May of last year

This image was made just after the last image I posted. So again, last light, shadows had already crept over the background portion of the image while the perch and subjects were still lit. No flash was used....all natural light. As I did for the last image I left the bird droppings on the perch. Didn't see the need to remove them.
Depth of field was not what I wanted. This is one of the dad's favorite perch's and the juvis would frequently come over to be fed, or scream at him, or just sit with him. Don't actually know if this is a male or female juvi so the title may be a little misleading.
As always, thanks for having a look see. Let me know if there is anything that can be done to improve this.

Really nice light, and it's great to see the two generations together like this.

Your D4 worked very well for this hope I can get the same out of mine.

David: This is really nice. Of course the light is special, but the bird interaction combined with the light sets this apart. Well seen and executed. :toast:

I can't argue this one! The "Father and Son" meme makes my old ticker go pitty-pat, and the light is exquisite! :toast: :toast:

Like the way the birds are used as reflectors to bounce light off each other. Reinforces the theme. Great!

A neat image of these 2 owls David. The way that shadows have darkened the background and served to highlight the subject is great.
My only slight niggle is that both owls have only one eye showing which does detract a bit from the overall impression
