It was a great start into the new year - maybe too perfect since the sky didn't have any clouds.Though it seemed to be very promising to go shooting the first morning of the new year I knew there was only a little chance for having some clouds I thought I might make a composition I was after for some years on Grenchenberg over lokking a cliff with some beautiful pastel colors but somehow it just didn't work out. Anyway, on my way back I found this backlit firs and somehow I did like it and it seemed to be perfect for clear blue skies.

A nice intimate scene. The fg shadows don't add a whole lot, but sometimes we have to get what we can, and this is definitely above average!

Nice scene, Bill. I think this might work real well in B&W with a little added contrast?

A very crisp and clean shot. Nice exposure too. My only nit is the amount of space the foreground shadows take up. Very nice shot though!

This is nice Bill, not on par with your recent tree images, but very nice. I agree with Harley about converting this.

I have really like your winter scenes. They have a great feeling to them. I can just feel the clear, clean, crisp winter freshness in this image. The exposure is right on and I like the composition. The shadows also make nice leading lines.

A terrific winter scene, Roland, that the snow laden trees and sunburst set of perfectly. I happen to like the foreground shadows and how they're spread across the scene.

Nice light for a no-cloud day. I did a scroll-crop to eliminate some of the sky and even the top of the foreground tree. It seemed to strengthen the comp a bit if you don't mind missing a treetop.

I like this. I understand the comments from those who suggest modifications, but there is something clean and clear about this I really like. I like the FG shadows and I like the colors. It does feel cold. And that's coming from someone who lives where it is currently -11 F.

Nice find Bill, the mountains and fog in the distance add depth to the scene.

Thank you very much for your feedbacks and suggestions. I will think about a black & white version. You are right, I think this would also work fine as b&w. The crop suggestion of Tony are also a option I would think about and will try it out. I already thought about a pano format, but then I decided to go 2:3.
Again I always appreciate your thoughts and suggestions
