I was out shooting a waterfall but didn't see any comps I liked, then I turned around and saw this weird formation with tentacles of ice and a nice view downstream, and found my shot.

To me it looks a bit comical, which was not the intent. I always have to watch for shapes that will suggest something that takes attention away from the image's purpose.

That is a fascinating ice cap on the foreground rock, Mark. This is a fine wintery stream scene with the snow covered rocks scattered well and creating a good sense of depth. (I could also see a close up of the "ice skeleton" that would really show off those teeth and the bushy "hair". )

Very nice winter scene, no nits for me. I hope you also made some close-up photos of the ice structure in the foreground, it looks really interesting!

This is fun. I, too, am hoping you got a close up of the star of this show. As for this version you might try to adjust the mid-tones for a bit more contrast. Good eye to see this

The foreground is sure an interesting subject. You created a good sense of depth with your comp.

I like this, Mark. The foreground ice structure is very unique. I hope you got a tighter shot of that and a couple of his buddies.

Nice sense of depth in the image with the snow covered rocks making a nice leading line. The image feels cold.

I like the B&W presentation to highlight the patterns. It just feels a bit under-composted. Seems like there is something stronger available in these elements.
