a strange, uneasy feel to this - making it even more sombre. to my eye, there's too much stuff on the right when the really interest lies in the left. And, Peter, who is EDGORDON (note, in CAPS)?

It is working nicely for me. The comp nicely pushes my attention to the back and the little waterfall in the fog. . The image has a nice quiet calm to it.

This is wonderfully moody, Peter. I like how the evergreens pop on the right and then fade gently into the distance. Sure creates a fine sense of being there thoughtfully enjoying some peace and quiet.

I like the optical effect the split between the trees and their reflection makes. Somber, yes, but most engaging to look at

Nicely composed, good depth and I love that reflection along the shore. I would pump up the contrast though as it looks a touch flat overall and I think there's more depth hiding in there

Fabulous image and scene Peter! :toast: :toast: :toast:

My only very slight suggestion or something I'd be tempted to do is add just a hair more contrast to the mid tones selectively on the left distant areas to try to balance the clarity of the scene a little. Just an idea.

The featureless sky doesn't detract any attention from the lakeside and mountains, allowing the depth of the image to really stand out. Lots of detail to enjoy; I didn't spot the waterfall at first!

I like it very much as presented, Peter. No suggestions from me on an outstanding and evocative image. :toast:

Very moody image, Peter. Kinda reminds me of the opening helicopter footage in The Shining

Featureless sky is not something most photographers can tune into, Peter. You did a really nice job of it. It's a really nice contrast between the featureless sky and the "feature-ful" lake shore.

I like how realistic this is. I get quite tired of all these super-saturated, HDD-ish images. This is soft and quiet, and has beautiful depth. Nice.

I like this a lot. You have some fine shadow detail here under the trees and overall it has a pleasing symmetry.
