Tried something new... let me know what you think. Didn't have access to my tripod, so I had to handhold. I wish I had a shot of the foreground rock in focus so I could stack..

Nikon D7100 12-24mm HH @ 22mm
f/22
1/6 second
ISO 250

Full Frame, adjustments in PS5

It's an interesting composition, a juxtaposition of solidity and fluidity. It is good to experiment.

The slight softness in the top of the rock doesn't bother me a bit. It fits well (maybe even adds to) the sense of motion. This is a neat view, that has me wondering what it would be like with the rock getting filled in the lower right corner. However, part of me suspects that the bit of water in the corner is adding a lot to the overall sense of motion here.

luke - I like it. i not sure if the added bit in the bottom right adds or distracts? i might experiment with different crops (with/without). good eye for this and next time take your tripod!!

That's a really interesting take on this! I am slightly distracted by the part in the lrc, so I would probably crop that out. But it works really well like this as well! The structure in the water is perfect.

Really cool view!

It may be just me but I'd clone (content aware delete) the lower right corner out as I feel it distracts slightly.

Thanks all for the comments - I have a ton of shots where the LRC isn't showing so maybe I'll post one later

Is that Santa's beard back there? Intriguing shot, Luke, but for me it does feel like it needs a tripod for best result.

A very interesting take in this Luke and nice back round motion. I agree about the corner distracting a bit but good job thinking outside the box. Very nice.

Very interesting and quite dynamic. I agree the lower right corner is somewhat distracting. Nice job with the experiment!

I think this is  Agree that cropping the water out of the LRC would make it even stronger.

This is quiet intersting. I love the idea a lot.I'm on the edge about the soft looking foreground and the lower right corner...but otherwise I really like this image. It's really a cool image :toast:

This is an intriguing image, Luke. Love the window to the flow. I agree with the crop suggestions, but very nice.
