Taken at the Miller Park Zoo. I was at the zoo to try and photograph the African spray toads, when this guy started calling. The zoo keeper ask me to try and get a photo with its throat pouch extended. Turned out not to be a simple task. I had with me my trusty PS SX60, which at close-up mode cast a shadow when the flash is used. So I backed off until there was no flash shadow. The frog was in an aquarium which had water running through it, resulting in water drops on the glass. First the frog was not in a good position, with its rear towards the camera, then it moved to where it was parallel to the front of the exhibit which gave me a chance to get the requested photo. It took several shots to catch the extended throat pouch, but the zoo keeper was pleased with the results.

Canon PS SX60
1/200 @ F- 6.3 ISO 200
Canon 3.8-247 @ 25.5 mm
HH Flash

Pretty good shot of a good ole big ole frog! Despite the turn away from you, your plane of focus was good.

Well captured, John. The setting looks very natural, and I like the way the frog stands out from the bg. Good subject detail and exposure.

This is definitely a colorful frog with excellent dof and great details. Can't say that I notice any "water spots" even in the larger version so it's easy to see why the keeper was pleased. It a good shot. I've managed a few "singing" shots of spring peepers and catching them with their throats extended is a challenge.
